In 2008, 67.553 million visitors came to Shenzhen. Overnight visitors from overseas totaled 8.69 million, the most in the country's main tourist cities, which saw an increase of 4.6 percent from the previous year. Total tourism revenue hit 51.783 billion yuan, including US$2.708 billion in foreign exchange earnings, accounting for 6.77 percent of the country, and ranking fifth among Chinese cities.
