IN a bid to provide diversified ways for residents to aid the poor, the sixth China Charity Fair, which is scheduled to be held from Sept. 20 to 22, will set up a consumption hall for supporting charity through consumption, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.
The hall aims to encourage residents to purchase products from poverty-alleviation projects to assist the development of poverty-stricken areas.
Meanwhile, it also advocates for enterprises and social organizations to provide support with technical guidance, publicity, logistics and transportation, after-sales service and other aspects of the industrial chain of poverty alleviation, so as to propel the development of the industry through consumption.
Covering an area of 7,500 square meters, the hall will display products from targeted poverty-alleviation projects as well as products that are related to poverty alleviation from various fields.
As a national, comprehensive and global platform for philanthropic exchanges, the sixth China Charity Fair will also set up a hall featuring targeted poverty alleviation and eight thematic exhibition areas at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.
Additionally, the fair will set up a resource-matching area that aims to promote the effective matching of the needs of poverty-stricken areas with social resources.
The China Charity Fair was first launched in 2012.
