MORE than 100 well-known scholars, IT entrepreneurs and investors will attend the 2017 China IT Summit to be held April 1-2 at the Wuzhou Guest House in Futian District, according to a news conference Thursday.
The guests, including IT entrepreneurs such as Jack Ma, chairman of Alibaba, Pony Ma, co-founder of Tencent, and Li Yanhong, founder of Baidu, will share their ideas under the theme, "New Era of Intelligence." They will focus on four major topics, namely "Driverless Cars and Intelligent Environment," "IT and Digital Poverty Relief," "Blockchain and Fintech," and "LOT and Intelligent Equipment." Jack Ma and economist Zhu Min will give keynote speeches.
"The IT summit has become an influential meeting of the industry through eight years of development. It will help Shenzhen grasp the direction of the development of the information industry and information economy, and plan its industrial development projects on the whole," Zhang Hu, executive vice mayor, said at the news conference.
The added value of Shenzhen's IT industry reached 439 billion yuan (US$64 billion) in 2016, an increase of 9.2 percent over the previous year. Its industrial scale makes up one-seventh of the city's total. Some high-tech enterprises like Huawei, ZTE, Tencent and DJI have become major IT bases in China, and have formed a competitive industrial cluster in the world with complete industrial chain.
