SHENZHEN transport commission will start construction of Yueliangwan Bus Terminal in Nanshan District and Jinniu East Road Bus Terminal in Longgang, and renovation of Nanhai Boulevard in the first quarter of the year.
In the first quarter, the commission's construction center plans to complete 1.05 billion yuan (US$152 million) in infrastructure projects including promoting the construction of Phase III of the Nanping Expressway, Pingyan Passage and Banyin Passage.
According to the center, the key projects have been developing in full swing since the Spring Festival with 2,622 workers on duty.
Three expressways, namely Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway, Phase II of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway and Eastern Cross-border Expressway, totaling 97 kilometers and with an investment of 33.7 billion yuan, are under construction.
The 93-km outer ring expressway runs 76 kilometers across northern Shenzhen, with the remaining 17 kilometers running through the territory of Dongguan. The 60-km section linking Riverside Expressway in the west and Shenzhen-Shantou Expressway in the east will be completed in 2019.
Phase II of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway covers 6.1 kilometers from the flyover with Shenzhen International Airport to the flyover with the new Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, with a total cost of 6.9 billion yuan.
In 2017, the city will invest 7.91 billion yuan on the three expressway projects, including 2.88 billion yuan on the outer ring expressway and 3.98 billion yuan on the eastern cross-border expressway.
