Shenzhen Party chief Wang Rong is interviewed by reporters in front of Deng Xiaoping's statue on top of the Lianhua Hill Park in Futian District on Thursday. City leaders and residents pay respects to the late leader to mark the 20th anniversary of Deng's famous tour in southern China, which revived China's stalled reforms. From Jan. 18 to Feb. 21, 1992, Deng visited several cities including Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Shanghai. During his visit in Shenzhen, Deng delivered important speeches, putting the country back on the path of reform and opening up.
