A TOTAL of 111 artists from seven of Shenzhen's international sister cities would stage a variety of performances in Shenzhen from today to Dec. 7, a news conference was told yesterday.
The performances are part of the third cultural and art week for Shenzhen's international sister cities, which was inaugurated in 2007 to give local residents access to cultures of foreign cities and to boost mutual understanding.
The seven sister cities are Poznan of Poland, Frankfurt of Germany, Busan of South Korea, Haifa of Israel, Samara of Russia and Polynesia and Vienne of France.
Performances would include jazz, ballet, folk dances, taekwondo and pipe organ at Shenzhen Concert Hall, Shenzhen Grand Theater, Shenzhen Poly Theater and the civic center in Yantian District.
The celebrations would feature jazz bands from Germany and Israel.
Residents presenting an ID card can apply for two free tickets to the performances.
In 2007 and 2009, foreign artists brought Broadway musicals, paintings, posters, photos and their cuisine to Shenzhen.
Shenzhen has signed friendly relationships with 36 cities in 23 countries, according to the city's foreign affairs office.
