THE city transport department is planning to build a road connecting Pingshan New Zone to Yanba Expressway in Yantian District, a department meeting was told.
The government will spend about 17 billion yuan (US$2.5 billion) on 70 road projects in the zone in the next five years, to create a high-speed road network.

High capacity, fast public transport would be promoted in the zone because it is not served by the Metro, the meeting was told.
Construction and renovation of public transport facilities would be piloted in some parts of the zone, the Daily said.
